Why I believe that all women carry their own medicine
Medicine Women
On one of the mornings during my Menstrual leadership trainings with Red School founders Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo -Wurlitzer at the magical Hawkwood College I woke up super early, grabbed my notebook and cacao and went to sit under a beautiful apple tree, near the natural spring. I knew something wanted to come out- and as soon as my pen touched the paper, the following just flowed through me, in a matter of minutes. I knew that the name for my work was born.
Years later, these words still encapsulate why I feel so honoured to do this work and why you are so welcome to come to the table and learn and remember.
Medicine Women
I am claiming my seat at the table of medicine women. We are here. We are the old and remembered, the ancient, the ancestors- and we are the new beginning. We are the new revolution. The new time.
Medicine women take responsibility for themselves, for their healing; they live in deep knowledge and wisdom, they remember the old and create the new. They tend to their wounds, they gather their medicine and their tools, they lay them out on the table (to share them with others).
We gather together, to strengthen our bones, to share our medicine, to teach each other, to remember together, to remind each other when we forget, to hold each other accountable- to laugh, dance, sing and cry.. to heal, to root, to vision.
We can only do this work when we heal and tend to the rifts between is. We can only do this work together.
This is the work that will shift the paradigm.
Come to the fire. Sit down. Share your story. We will hold you.
And we will remind you that we are
Medicine Women.
